[Melbourne] The 2008 Melbourne Fringe Festival

The Melbourne Fringe Festival is the largest annual celebration of independent arts In Victoria. It takes place every spring in and around Melbourne and showcases some of Australia’s best artistic talent. The festival is open to the public and any artist is welcome to contribute their work.

This year the festival is packed with over 300 events in just under 20 days ranging from performance arts and comedy to documentary and visual arts screenings. Some of the events cost money but about 97 are free, head to Federation Square any night of the festival for a free event.

Here’s a small sample of the things the Fringe Festival has to offer this year:
I Art Sydney Road (Visual Arts)
A Brief History Of Graffiti (Visual Arts)
Babble Poetry Slam (Performance)
Jungle Fever (Music)
Dance-a-thon 6000 (Dance / Movement)
Don’t Have Sex In Paris (Cabaret)
Fluorescent Facade: Howard Arkley And Suburbia (Performance)
Night of the Devil Zombies (Performance)

Date: 24 September - 12 October
