For everyone that made the time to check out the We Make Stuff Good stand at the massive Don’t Ban The Can event on the weekend may have noticed the awesome guys from Sketch City!

Our mates at Sketch City run a monthly interactive art event held at Dazzeland Studios (25 Eastment St, Northcote), on the first Sunday of each month that allows contemporary street artists, illustrators and doodlers to draw, paint and design with the materials they provide, on any available surface!

We hart Sketch City!

By turning their space into a giant canvas, artists have walls to paint on, tables to draw over and unique installations to get creative with. It also offers artists the space to network, showcase their talent and create new work in a social and relaxed environment. Their aim is to re-build a sense of artistic community in Melbourne, promote a greater tolerance for street art in the wider community and encourage artists of all ages, working in different styles and mediums, to collaborate and explore different avenues.

Live funk, dub and hip hop from amazing local bands and DJs help create a relaxed and creative atmosphere and since Sketch City’s emphasis has always been on inclusiveness, it’s an all ages event -  everyone is welcome! Reputable artists are invited to do a live feature piece as an attraction at each event and you’ll get to see them demo their style on a range of surfaces. There’s always workshops, battles and comps throughout the day to get the creative juices flowing!

Sunday October 5th - Sketch City @ Dazzeland – Hopefully the sun is shining for Sketch City this month because we’re celebrating spring with a fresh burner for the Sketch City van, painted live on the day by much loved artists Que, Drew and Scale!

There will be live chilled funk by Sasqwatch, and a mix of amazing tunes by DJs Akme, Joss, Cutluce and Chop. There will also be an opportunity for open jams for anyone musical out there. We’ll have some battles, competition raffles and giveaways throughout the day plus all the Sketch City goodness to help you get creative.

Paint supplies are provided by our new sponsor Aeroskills, there’s also a huge amount of other art materials available for you to get creative with.

This event is all ages and entry is $5, art materials are included.
