Melbourne’s next king of funk and soul, Simon Wright and The Eclective warmed up the stage at the recent Don’t Ban the Can protest party.
Simon hails from Byron Bay but now calls Melbourne home. He started playing solo shows 16 months ago but has recently teamed up with master classical guitarist turned blues/funk/jazz musician Tristan McCoppin. His band has grown to an 8 piece sporting some of Melbourne’s finest blues, jazz and funk musicians. Listen out for their new live album being released in October.
Simon Wright and the Eclective play every Monday night throughout summer at The Evelen Hotel in Fitzroy. Expect him to grace the stage of the Night Cat in the near future.
