Review

Flying Lotus had amazing success from their 2007 release, Reset. This is another nice piece of work from Steven Ellison who started his career at Adult Swim. Flying Lotus has always been on the forefront of the electronic, hip hop sound, shaping and creating some of the freshest futuristic music going around.

This album definitely lives up to the hype of his previous record. Most of it is instrumental, very experimental, so beware those of you who like safer music.

If you feel like a bit of rhythm, some tribal communal… ahhh, well listen to “Melt!”. When it’s time to wind it back down and spook yourself out give “Camel” a try and when you’re head is about to explode from crazy left field beats and noises, get the soothing vocals of Laura Darlington to chill you right out with “Auntie’s Lock / Infinitum”.

I’d say it’s a must have for anyone who likes the similar artists I listed.
