This album was released over a year ago, but I still find myself sitting back enjoying the simple, ambient tracks that still feel as fresh as ever. The Field is the brain child of Swedish music producer Axel Willner who has released tracks on both Kompakt and Monotoni. The 2007 release From Here We Go Sublime was met with high acclaim and marked a turning point in Kompakt’s history.

The album is a perfect mix of heavy bass-lines and short melodic synthesizer phrases. If you’re not into minimal ambiance then perhaps From Here We Go Sublime is not for you. Listening to the album from start to finish is not just a musical journey but also a dive into a trance like state. It’s uplifting and melodic, perfect for putting on at work or during long, boring trips. Listening to this album on the train or even just at home sends me on a journey of creativity and euphoria.

Fans of this album should definitely check out Booka Shade, Ellen and Allien, Apparat and Nathan Fake. Watch out for the The Field’s new release and also check out some of his new remixes, Thom Yorke - Cymbal Rush[Late Night Essen Und Trinken], Victoria Bergsman - Julia[The Field Rmx] , Sasha - The Mongoose[The Field Rmx] and The HoneyDrips - Fall From a Hieght[The Field Way].
