Kreuzberg is a well known neighbourhood in Berlin that is a haven for artists, musicians, squatters and anarchists. It is also becoming well known for the torching of luxury cars. Last Saturday two Porsche Boxters were set on fire in the neighbourhood. This is not a new thing – 46 luxury cars have been set on fire in Kreuzberg this year.
They’re fighting back, those Porshe owners. One of them thinks he has the solution – he’s a developer and he’s patented the idea of taking your car to bed with you, well not in bed but maybe right next to it.
They’re called “CarLofts”, they are essentially car elevators allowing owners to park their car in a garage right next to their loft. Does this sound a bit weird to you? Apparently it allows drivers to avoid dark parking garages and carrying groceries long distances. Stop eating bratwursts you fatties!
Germans are pretty weird about their cars, they almost like them too much and that’s why this isn’t surprising. It’s only a matter of time before they, you know… This is just an excuse to have their Beemers in their bed.
