Check out the best photographs from Australia’s free media at Sydney’s Reportage festival.

This years guest curator is the explosive Stephen Dupont; an international award-winning Australian photojournalist.  Last year whilst working in Afganistan, a suicide bomber blew up a car right next to him. He escaped with minor injuries. His reportage of this incident has been featured in the New Yorker, Newsweek, The Sunday Times Magazine and The New York Times Magazine.

The festival runs from the 8th to 26th October. There will be projections, exhibitions and guest speakers.

You have to have a bit of respect for these guys as most of them go out and fund their own projects.

About The Author: Poppy Calhoun

I love portraiture and documentary photography. I keep telling myself I will have time to work on more personal art projects one day. Currently I’m working on a series of portraits for the We Make Stuff Good crew, which is coming soon, I promise Krystal! The documentation of Melbourne street art – in particular Sketch City and Don't Ban the Can – are a continuous and inspiring projects. I am also starting to shoot portraits for bands and personalities. Keep a look out for Simon Write & the Ecclective, and those crazy graph kids Juzzo and Spud Roc.
