and you said:
sometimes the weather gets to me
sometimes the rain falls
hard in the afternoon
and my shoes sag,
my socks swell.
sometimes that thin mist
in the morning
dampens my skin
and heavies my walk.
sometimes there’s mud
and there’s rain
and the concrete dips,
trying to get away from it all
and sometimes the trees are lowered
and the birds are
black- a warning
to stay inside
and always there’s roads: endless
roads that inter
sect and merge and circumvent
the fact that they’re spaces between
houses
hospitals
schools
parks
shops
police stations
fire stations
train stations
stationary stores
spaces between
nothing
and
nowhere.
and you said:
sometimes the weather gets to me
but usually it’s something else.

Writing stuff

Hey nice one.
I like the way this starts and ends. The imagery in between really gives me the feeling that you’re walking through a concrete jungle. Oh, the disenchantment of city life.
Sagging shoes really speaks to me. But mainly because I am a povo with saggy shoes. Would you like me to donate them to you so that you may write this poem on them and exhibit?
No?
