No Vacancy is once again hosting an extraordinary exhibition! This time make sure to fill your wallets with crispy cash ’cause it’s time to play…

UPDATE!

Here are Simon Childerhous (Queen of Spades), Kid Reka (King of Diamonds) and Sheldon Vella (Ace of Harts)

The theme is cards. Yes. C.a.r.d.s. Excately the kind of cards we used to play with good ol’ Gran’ma at the old folks home. Only this time it’s gonna be so much more exciting! Wuhu! Instead of Gran’ma you’ll get 20 Australian artists, all divided into the 5 suits, trying to accomplish their final goal of creating a deck of cards.

All will be combining street-art, illustration, comic-art and graphic design into 5 decks of playing cards. And it doesn’t stop here! Nooo! The cards will also be enlarged into A2 size and made into a house. That in itself is mind-blowing exciting, and is possibly going to be the coolest house of cards we will ever lay our eyes upon!

There are 4 artists per suit; each artist produces one face card (Jack, Queen, King and Ace).

The suits are as following:

Diamonds – Phibs, Synk, Reka and Megs
Hearts – Karl, Dylan, Sheldon, Sam
Clubs – Yok, Drew, Junior, Claudio
Spades – Kid Zoom, Simon Childerhouse, Itch and TwoOne
Jokers – Sean Kelly and Loungekat

At the opening night artists will be rocking the 20th century casino style, so if you wanna melt in, feel free to do the same. Otherwise wear your poker face – that’s always a winner!

Opening Night: 13th Feburary 2009. 6:00pm to 9:00pm
Exhibition: 13th – 22nd Feburary 2009

Where: No Vacancy 27-33 Red cape Lane, Melbourne 3000 ( QV building )
