No Vacancy has hunted down an empty space in Singapore and throughout March will be transforming it into a gallery space that they hope will give Melbourne artists an opportunity to gain exposure and experience throughout Asia. It definitely sounds like a great way to promote the Australian art scene to a wider, International audience. No Vacancy has invited two local Melbourne artists to help them launch the new gallery; Nior and Ghostpatrol.
Nior: Born in the hills of Melbourne, Nior’s characters are influenced by the native creatures he sees
everyday and what he finds in his imagination.
He began putting his artwork around the streets in 2004 and since then, has refined his characters
and transformed them into many hairy shapes and sizes. Nior had his first solo show with No
Vacancy this year to a sell-out show. His amazing talent and skills have developed over the years
and sees him as one of Melbourne’s best artists.
Ghostpatrol: A self taught artist residing in Melbourne, Ghostpatrol has established himself worldwide as a
respected exhibiting artist and active street artist.
In the past few years he has exhibited in Manchester, Vienna, Berlin, Los Angeles, San Francisco and
Barcelona.
His versatile style floats between fine line ink work, acrylics on wood and spray paint murals. Through his work he explores child like memories with a twist of hidden evil.
His recent solo at Metro 5 gallery in Melbourne coincided with his first book release “Book Format”.
Together these artists complement each other and have a great appreciation for each others work.
Both have a their own unique and individual style that when put together complements their work.
Their collaboration pieces are truly breathtaking, and think that Singapore is in for a huge treat with
these 2 artists coming over to Singapore.
