[Melbourne] Stutter-utter-er

Horse Bazaar, Melbourne’s pioneering multimedia bar has transcended its reputation as one of the cities best visual arts attractions by dabbling in a little bit of live experimental music. With their weekly (every Wednesday) night full of all things ‘experimental/unpopular/avant-tard/acoustic/electronica/call-it-what-you-will, music and performance madness’, the Horse Bazaar is back on my list of places to visit.

STUTTER began all the way back in January of 2008 but I’m ashamed to say this is the first I’ve heard of it. Luckily for me this Wednesday’s line-up is looking like it’s going to be a good first time. We’ve got Monarch, a female fronted drone metal band from France, Candle Snuffer (Dave Brown of Embers) with Black Widow (Robert MacManus of Grey Daturas), Bonnie Mercer (of Grey Daturas) with Brisbane sound artist Tom Hall and noise artists Absoluten Calfeutrail and Default Jamerson. Not bad for $10.

What: STUTTER

Who: Monarch, Candle Snuffer (Embers) & Black Widow (Grey Daturas), Bonnie Mercer (Grey Daturas) & Tom Hall, Absoluten Calfeutrail, Default Jamerson

When: Wednesday 25 February, starting at 8:30pm

Damage: $10

Where: Horse Bazaar, 397 Little Lonsdale Street, Melbourne
