This little disc is something else and goes to prove PHT are a dark force not to be fucked with. I’ve always enjoyed the music of Iron Lung and their use of chopping and changing samples during and in between songs and this CD is just the fix I was after.

Pig Heart Transplant is a project headed by Jon Kortland (Iron Lung /Gob) and on this release he is joined by a host of heavy hitters:

August Alston (Lords Of Light / Walls / Silentist), Sanders Creasy (Unpersons, Bite Itself), Chris Dodge (Despise You / Lack Of Interest / Spazz / Hellnation / East West Blast Test etc.), Dustin Ferris (Hounded Wounds), Mike Priehs (Threatener, Herds, Mutator, Broachfaced), Jensen Ward (Iron Lung / Artimus Pyle / Walls / Cold Sweat, Gehenna etc.), Greg Wilkinson (Brainoil / Lana Dagales / Laudanum)

Sludge guitars and deathly drum-hits combined with a nightmare inducing voice, and toots and beeps that’ll make your skin crawl, leaving you with the feeling of sitting alone in a dark cave, and being laughed at by an army of goblins and possibly the devil himself.

This music isn’t for everyone, which i find a bit of a shame, but i can say with confidence that this music would have Britney running for her underwear drawer for 3 extra pairs of knickers in case she pooped herself.
