Late last week I got an email asking if I would be keen to have a stall at the No Vacancy Art Market. After some thought and several emails back a forth I said yes.
Then, when finding out that it starts Friday 24 April I went into a tizz; Do I have enough works? Can I fill the allotted spot? Do I have time to create some fresh new stuff? Eeek! That’s when Megan (stencil artist) came on board to share the stall with me. Now we’ve cards, badges, artworks on canvas, and recycled materials to showcase along with 19 other stalls that will all be part of the first and (fingers crossed) not last Art Market at No Vacancy. Items featured in other stalls range from artworks, jewellery, comics, animation and other wonderful bits and pieces.
Other artists and creatives have also been encouraged to come and work in the space, which will give punters the opportunity to view them at what they do best and maybe even pick up some additional skills to apply to their own work.
What: No Vacancy Art Market
Where: No Vacancy Gallery, 23 Red Cape Lane (QV Building), Melbourne
When: 24 April – 17 May
