Moon Age Alex Moonage

Seems like this one will be a night full of wonderful drawings, collages, photography, performances and animation. I don’t know about you but I like colourful images of people with rainbow colours and spewy stuff all over. It’s a shame I can’t attend this one, if you’re in Sydney and go make sure to tell me all about it.

‘Drawing on the tools of psychoanalysis and meditation, Moon-age embodies a Surrealist sensibility—creating a direct linkage between the imagined worlds she has escaped into since a child and external reality as experienced through colour and music. Her anamorphic, androgynous forms are fragments of mythical histories then distorted to create wildly colourful images. Simultaneously beautiful and morbid, these forms encourage the viewer to explore the murky yet magical corners of their own subconscious.’ – Alex Clu, 2009
