A few weeks ago I picked up a Polaroid camera from a second hand store. To my horror I then discovered that Polaroid stopped production of most of its instant film products and had shut down their factories. Some pricey 600 film was still available but even that was due to expire very shortly.

However, after further investigation I heard about the Impossible Project: A group called Impossible b.v have acquired two of Polaroid’s old factories, and with a team of film experts aim to redevelop the analogue film! It’s a huge task, but hopefully not impossible! Cross your fingers, go online to support them and pray to be sh-sh-shakin’ it by 2010!

About The Author: Poppy Calhoun

I love portraiture and documentary photography. I keep telling myself I will have time to work on more personal art projects one day. Currently I’m working on a series of portraits for the We Make Stuff Good crew, which is coming soon, I promise Krystal! The documentation of Melbourne street art – in particular Sketch City and Don't Ban the Can – are a continuous and inspiring projects. I am also starting to shoot portraits for bands and personalities. Keep a look out for Simon Write & the Ecclective, and those crazy graph kids Juzzo and Spud Roc.
