Keep the last Sunday in July free because Hold Hands! is putting on a fundraising musical extravaganza for battling independent radio station FBi 94.5FM (Sydney). With a strong emphasis on Australian music, FBi Radio and other community based radio stations like RRR FM play an integral part in the cultivation and development of new Australian music and without them, many Australian musicians wouldn’t have the opportunity to have their music heard by anyone other than their mother or myspace friends.

Come to The Tote on Sunday 26 July for a celebration of independent Australian music and you’ll be treated to the some of best bands around including Beaches, Kes Band, Mick Turner (The Dirty Three) and Black Cab. If you needed any more convincing that Hold Hands! is an event not to be missed, a range of CDs, vinyl and merchandise from each label will be available on the night at never-to-be-repeated prices.

What: Hold Hands!

Who: Beaches, Black Cab, Children of the Wave, Dick Diver, Guy Blackman, Jessica Says, Kes Band, Kid Sam, Lee Memorial, Mick Turner (The Dirty Three), Ned Collette (Solo), Spider Vomit, St Helens, The Sand Pebbles, The Smallgoods, The Sun Blindness, plus DJs Faux Pas and Teclo Ladies

When: Sunday 26 July

Tickets: Available from The Tote box office

Where: The Tote Hotel, 71 Johnston Street, Collingwood
