Recently I discovered the ‘Fat Cap Chairs’ via Clutter Magazine’s blog (if you’re into vinyl toys, a must-read). On first spying them, I thought ‘these would look great in many a warehouse I know,’ and ‘oh the readers of WMSG will hopefully be just as excited.’
The creative mind behind these unique chairs is artist Sander van Heukelom who designed them for his solo show in Amsterdam ‘The Artistry of the cap’, which was held in July 2008. This man is no one-hit-wonder his been experimenting with typographic design and graffiti since he was a teenager and is now known especially for his three-dimensional typographic sculpture and paintings.
Dependng on your weapon of choice there are two types available: the ‘Hooded Fatcap’ and a ‘New York Fatcap’ either crisp white or with a custom paint-job. Personally I’m loving the ‘Hooded Fatcap’.
