Mills and Boon. Lady Porn. Erotic fiction.

No matter what you call it, it has long been purely considered the realm of sad middle aged women. However, there is a group of self-proclaimed ’smart bitches’ that doth protest! Smart Bitches, Trashy Books is a little gem of a site that reviews those books that most of us would pass by with a giggle. To the shock of all, some of this trash sounds like pretty good reading.

Don’t get me wrong though, there is a whole lot of bad shiz out there. For example the Mills and Boon ‘novella’ I received for my 21st birthday was CRAPTASTIC! Every time things were getting hot ‘n’ heavy there’d be a lame ass cut away to the next morning. If I’m reading lady porn I expect to see the words ‘throbbing’, ‘manhood’ and ‘heaving’ at least three times each. The ladies at Smart Bitches, Trashy Books have a special review section for books that are so bad they can’t even finish reading them.

The women of Smart Bitches aren’t biased either. They even review books that are purely for entertainment purposes only, for example Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.  They have regular  competitions, such as the hilarious ’silver anus, purple prose’ and update regularly to let all the fan girls know when there are sales and events related to le novel romantique.

I know that most of you will still never give these books a go but reading reviews that include descriptions like ‘my inner monologue was as follows: Nooooo! You cannot start talking about hard-ons in reference to 9/11! Nooooo!is something I highly recommend on a slow day.
