The other day when looking for a colour pallet online I came across a very basic and straight forward colour pallet generator that gives you a colour pallet of both vibrant and dull colours straight from one image at www.degraeve.com/color-palette . All you have is do is paste in the URL of the image you wish to generate a colour palette from.

I found that this tool was extremely helpful to create what I was looking for without having to search through heaps of colour palletes. I know you can do this through photoshop and other such programs but this is just so straight forward and gives you two colour pallette options from just one image at a click of a button.

A downside is that you have to convert the colours to RGB/CMYK and if your wanting to use spot colours, then having to find the closest match.

For those of who want a more indepth ‘how-to’ with pleanty of pictures you can check out the more detailed post on my own blog at www.nicoletattersall.blogspot.com/2009/07/hints-tips-colour-scheme-from-photo.html
