Court Jester Cafe will now become home to a new poetry slam commencing this Wednesday 11 November. The monthly event will be hosted by locally renowned poet IQ.

IQ has resided in Melbourne for the past year where he has been heavily involved within the poetry scene; often working with children and adults in workshop environments where he has been able to inspire his students to find their “inner-poet”. The Memphis muse is an acclaimed poet who has participated and won many poetry competitions at an international level.
The Muddy Rivers Poetry Slam aims to create an event where people of all ages and diversities are invited to participate and spectate (though it must be noted that the content of the poets’ material is uncensored).
Court Jester Cafe was chosen as the location for the new poetry slam due to its creatively inspiring and communal atmosphere. The guys down at Court Jester will be serving their much talked about coffee and fine Eastern European cuisine while the poets are slammin’.
This will be a great opportunity for keen writers and spectators alike to get involved and be heard amongst like-minded people. Interested parties who wish to participate in the slam can register on the door for their chance to win the grand prize for the evening of $25!
