One of my favourite discoveries of 2009 was artist David Shillinglaw. He was kind enough to send me a copy of his latest zine titled No King Hungry Spirit. No King Hungry Spirit claims to be full of ‘extracts from a novel no one will ever read’ but I find myself going back to this zine time and time again because of the contrast between simplicity and complexity.

Drawings mostly grace these photocopied pages with the exception of a peacock feather and some 35mm negatives of hand guns next to a splatter of paint, a zine definitely worth picking up.
