The Yeah Yeah Yeahs are back with a new video clip, Skeletons, it will send shivers down your spine and take you spiraling head-first to darker Victorian times .
Filmed by long time associate Barney Clay, and inspired by artists such as Tony Oursler, along with the styling of the Adams Family, this is like nothing they have released yet.
Now classed as one of the decades most influential Indie Rock bands, the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s new song shall take you back to New Yorks No-Wave days, when bands such as the Swans were huge.
If you’re left wanting more oh so fanciful somber music visuals, then embrace their Mescaline fueled short film, SNAKE SWEAT and continue the journey to the dark side of the stars…

im not a YYY’s fan but i really enjoyed this clip! i wouldnt exactly say swans were huge when the no-wave scene was alive, because there was only a handfull of people involved and most people were too scared or didnt understand what was going on around them to take notice of it. It would be like seeing a band playing pots and pans these days and getting famous for it in ten years time. they may be huge now, but the handfull of bands that were playing around that time were classified more outcast than punks were in the 70’s. it wasnt until years later that swans (amongst other no-wave bands) got the recognition for doing what they do, and that was mainly because of brian eno’s compilations titled ‘no new-york’, and even still, that was only a few of the bands documented. Michael gira has started writing new material for swans as of this year, too! but with saying that, i can definately see the swans influence with the drum beats and long notes played on the keys.
i enjoyed this post, omni! write more!
