NIFFTY, Northcote Independent Fashion Festival combines Fashion, Music, Food, Wine and Shopping to bring you a fashion festival like you’ve never seen or heard before!

Showcasing the eclectic mix of fashion available on High Street, Northcote, a prominent shopping district in Melbourne’s inner north, NIFFTY is shining a light onto the alternative, independent, sustainable and vintage fashion High Street has to offer. The festival employs locals to model clothing that you can actually wear and buy on the day! Presenting fashion as an accessible and essential mode of self and social expression, NIFFTY celebrates the beauty and spunk that is found everyday in the streets of Melbourne, rather than reinforce the ‘cookie-cut ideal.’

Honouring the long standing love affair between fashion and music, NIFFTY has a stellar all female line-up playing on the cat walk, featuring Aluka, Abbie Cardwell and Kate Vigo. These lovely ladies of song will be decked out in Northcote fashion for their performances. Leading us on this fantastical fashion adventure will be the ever fabulous Catherine Deveny. Giving us her (piss) take on fashion, Catherine is sure to get you thinking about fashion in a different light.

A local fashion market place will run alongside the event. To entice people to get there early discounts and special offers are on offer for those who present their festival program to participating stores, cafes and restaurants over the festival weekend. It will be everything you don’t expect from a fashion festival and some of what you do.
