Welcome to Australia’s dining hall of hip-hop. Glad you could make it. Down each side of the table are a bunch of talented creatures making beats on the table with their hands, impatiently awaiting their turn to compete, entertain and hopefully take home a trophy.

This Sunday there will be dance offs, dance comps, dance lessons, popping, locking, b-boys & b-girls battles; workshops in multimedia design, graffiti, and b-boy & girl lessons. Along with MC battles, DJ battles, and the main course: 6 of Australia’s top hip-hoppers will be busting lyrical caps into both of your ears for the Freestyle– Masters of Hip Hop– National Final 2010…

It’s a massive, fun event that has been running for 4 years. Thousands attended last year’s festival and this year is going to be even bigger. Here’s a sample of last year to get you shakin’ your shit.  It is 10 bucks (or $15 for non-concessioners) but the show runs from 3pm – 8pm so that’s like $2 per hour… just a little more than Nike labour wages.

Who: DJ Jumps (Cat Empire), Mantra (Obese Records) & DJ Wasabi, Lamaroc (Australian b-boy champion), Justice (winner of Scribble Jam), more people we’ve forgotten, graffiti exhibitions, performances, comps, giveaways, free shit, and good vibed people from all over the place.

What: Freestyle–Masters of Hip hop–Final 2010
Where: Shed 4 Docklands, Victoria Harbour, North Warf Rd, Docklands
When: This very Sunday 18 April, 2010
Damage: $10 concession. $15 adults. Buy tickets online here
