There is only one thing funnier than a really old person saying F words, and Kick Ass has it. An 11 year old girl dropping the C bomb on a bunch of drug dealers before running them through with a sword…

This could have been a major studio production if that one little word had been cut out, but the writer stayed strong to his wrong-town vision. And it pays off. Kick Ass is one of the most interesting, morbid and funny movies I’ve seen in a long time.

I spent half the time thinking “finally a superhero movie with realistic violence” and the other half being that person at the cinema who makes a donkey noise when something funny happens, which was a lot. Sorry to the other people in the cinema.

All of the over-the-top, ridiculous feats and situations in Kick Ass are excused because it was pulled off so well. I haven’t had that much fun in a cinema since District 9, Avatar, or that time some mates and I spent the entire previews pretending to be synchronised swimmers. Again, sorry to the other people in the cinema.
