I’ve always been fascinated with eyes. Maybe it’s got some shit to do with them being ‘gateways to the soul’ or maybe it’s got to do with my child-like fascination with bright colours. Either way this animation by self-taught video artist Koichiro Tsujikawa is a beautiful example of taking a simple idea and executing it with the up-most skill and precision.

This piece was commissioned by the stock photography website Getty Images as a part of The Big Idea where visual artists were asked to create pieces using Getty Image material. The music is by Cornelius, a contemporary Japanese virtuoso whose musical ability is on par with the visual abilities of Koichiro Tsujikawa.
