I’ve always been fascinated with eyes. Maybe it’s got some shit to do with them being ‘gateways to the soul’ or maybe it’s got to do with my child-like fascination with bright colours. Either way this animation by self-taught video artist Koichiro Tsujikawa is a beautiful example of taking a simple idea and executing it with the up-most skill and precision.

This piece was commissioned by the stock photography website Getty Images as a part of The Big Idea where visual artists were asked to create pieces using Getty Image material. The music is by Cornelius, a contemporary Japanese virtuoso whose musical ability is on par with the visual abilities of Koichiro Tsujikawa. This isn’t the first time the pair have worked together either. Check out the video clip for Fit Song, an amazing piece of visual and aural stimulus.
