Head to Metro Gallery in September to check out a treasure trove of artwork from the best in the game (seriously, even your Nana knows who Banksy is). You never know who you just might rub shoulders with…maybe even that weird little man Thierry Guetta will be there glued behind his camera?

Stencil heads will be thrilled by the collection of work from the infamously enigmatic Banksy, the godfather of stencil art Blek le Rat and Melbourne’s own stencil king HA HA … Need we say more?

American skater-punk-grown-up-global-street-art-success-story Shepard Fairey and fellow skater punk graduate D*Face will be complemented by the cheeky Brit’, Nick Walker who continues to engage audiences with his combination of photo realist stencils and freehand aerosol art. The work of fellow England-born artist Hush draws on his escapades in Japan as a toy designer, with a colourful focus on the female form.

Nomadic Above delivers in freehand graffiti, wheatpastes, stickers, wooden sculptures and more. The intimate work of Aussie native Stormie will leave you nostalgic, wanting time to sit and ponder agrey concrete landscape and longing to pick up a pencil. The lady of the show, Swoon will entice audiences with her use of traditional craftsmanship and a classic painterly technique.

To put it mildly, we’re more excited than a kid on Christmas eve…

Stay tuned to the Metro Gallery Blog to get a sneak peak of some of the artworks.
