Melbourne’s streets are home to some of the worlds most progressive and active street artists of all formats, which is what we love about this great city at WMSG. That’s why we’re exited about Sweet Street, an inner city festival that celebrates this culture and aims to help elevate the profile of the dedicated and talented artists that pass through our wonderful city.
Sweet Streets is presently calling out for submissions to both the Award Show and the Street Sculpture Exhibition. Both closing this Sunday 22nd August, so get your entries in quick!
It’s not just strictly for painters either, so if you’re into yarn bombing or something of the newer variety of street art check out the submission links.
Also, the crew from Sweet Streets would like to invite prospective artists interested in getting involved in the festival through collaborative painting opportunities, workshops, forums, open studios etc. to head along to the Artist’s Gathering they are having. They’ll be a BBQ, some beers, and a chance to have some good chats with other artists and the festival team about how you want to contribute to this year’s festivities!
