Famous for their ’quarterly’ once-a-year bonanza of contemporary art and culture, this is lucky edition number 7 for Wooden Toy. And lucky you shall be too if you get a hold of one of the limited copies available. You may need to wrestle folks to get your hands on it, but we can guarantee it will be worth it. Each issue is created to a theme and this time the delicious graphic pages and entertaining words are all about da music. Thousands of hours of labour, the biggest edition yet and it’s all full of the stuff we lurrrve…
Some fine local and international talent are featured, including artists Tara MacPherson and Ken Taylor, DMC mix master DJ Perplex, and a collection of fine reading. There’s interviews, features of musicians that lost their nut and more rolling-stonesque type articles. The only thing better than enjoying excellent music is enjoying it alongside outstanding art, and this is exactly what the insatiable culture-hunters at Wooden Toy have provided.
Also! If you did want to grab a limited edition copy and get it signed, head to the launch this Wednesday 28 at Mag Nation from 6.30pm . It’s gonna be bigger than the Backstreet Boys. Believe.
