Now open at the Kick Gallery in Peel Street, Collingwood is the newest exhibition from Ruis Carson, Sculptural Thought. If you’re wondering how you’re supposed to know that name, he’s the guy whose sculpture was covertly placed on the corner of Johnston Street and Punt Road seven years ago…and it’s still there.

Here it comes again. Semi-Permanent is back again this year to shove in your face what other creative agencies and designers –from Melbourne and the rest of the world– have been up to.
The Semi-Permanent team set to inspire you to wriggle out ideas and future plans from inside your head and eject them out into real life. You should see my sketches from past S.P’s, it’s like abstract, creative sketch pad expressionism from the future!

Head to Metro Gallery in September to check out a treasure trove of artwork from the best in the game (seriously, even your Nana knows who Banksy is). You never know who you just might rub shoulders with…maybe even that weird little man Thierry Guetta will be there glued behind his camera?

I was walking past No Vacancy the other day and saw a large canvas curtain drawn to hide what was happening inside the gallery. There were bits of wood and crazy panels of colour painted on the walls. What could it be?…I’m excited to announce that it’s the preparation for Acorn’s solo show. Hurrah!

The Go Font Your Self exhibitions have been running around galleries in Australia for a few years now. Each year they showcase local and international artists who have a mad fetish for type. If you are one of these people don’t expect ground breaking new type and fonts. Their exhibitions seem to be about checking out what amazing artist can do what with type, words and geometric styles.
You will find this exhibition at the No Vacancy Gallery where strangly enough, you can usually find rad stuff. We recomend to jump on down have a beer, talk to other like minded font lovers whilst checking out what other artists think about typoography.

Send yourself into the mysterious, dark and dizzying world of the one and only maestro of quirk this winter with Tim Burton: The exhibition.
The retrospective exhibition was put together by the New York Museum of Modern Art and was curated in collaboration with the man himself. It features over 700 works including sketches, storyboards, figurines, photos, sculptures, puppets, film, costumes and paintings. All of which have emerged from Burton’s exceptional imagination throughout his longstanding career.
