Good Stuff

There is so much good coming from this little studio down on Smith St it’s difficult to describe them in a nutshell. The Social Studio’s primary aim is to give refugees a safe, welcoming place to learn new skills from experienced designers so they can then find employment in their new homeland. The offshoots of this project are: a fantastic shop where you can pick up one-off designer remakes, a coffee shop and sewing workshops that are open to the public. All the revenue raised from the offshoots go back into funding the primary project.

Hello boys and girls and welcome to your first lesson on plastic water bottles. Ever wondered to yourself if that plastic bottle you keep refilling and reusing is doing you harm? Don’t get me wrong, recycling is the cleaner, greener way to a happy future but can it affect your health?
Research has shown that most water bottles are only designed for single time use, so if you keep reusing them they can leach harmful chemicals into your water. Heat can also affect this so keeping your bottle in a hot car can increase this rate of ‘leaching’.

People in Australia are noticeably becoming more interested in typography. You don’t have to be a graphic designer to know that Comic Sans is not funny and Helvetica dominates everything around us…
